Official inauguration of the centre:

5 July 2007

Le Balkan’s Branta Conservation and Visitor Centre will be used as the main office for the management of the Red-breasted Goose conservation project.  Such a centre overlooking the lake Dourankulak will be used for raising public awareness. It would serve as a field station, where volunteers could participate in our actions. The envisaged exhibition will include detailed photographic and cartographic materials and will provide visitors with information on coastal Dobrudjha and on the EECONET Project for the Conservation of the Red-breasted goose. Finally, the centre will be used as a nature conservation unit for the management of the Great Bustard long-term recovery program in Bulgaria, which is under preparation by Le Balkan-Bulgaria Foundation.

Finally, the centre would provide an important nature conservation lobby in a region where hunters behave as if they owned the geese.
